Deploying and implementing is the single largest section at roughly 25% of the exam. Operations and setup account for another 40% combined. If your study plan is mostly reading documentation, you've misallocated your time. You need to be deploying things, breaking them, and fixing them.
The official exam guide describes the ACE as someone who "deploys and secures applications, services, and infrastructure, monitors the operations of multiple projects, and maintains enterprise solutions to meet target performance metrics." Notice what's missing from that description: there's no mention of designing architectures. The ACE is an operator's exam, not an architect's.
The refreshed exam guide is more AI-aware than its predecessor. Several objectives now name tooling that wasn't examinable before.

Google replaced Kryterion with Pearson VUE on March 2, 2026. The exam length, question count, and format are unchanged, but everything about the testing experience is different.
